The question is what makes a woman beautiful? I`ve met good looking women who had rotten personalities and women who wasn`t good looking at all who were totally beautiful on the inside. Looks is not all that counts.

(yeah you already said this, I'm just saying it too) Personally women who are beautiful on the outside tend to scare me, a lot of times they have nothing better to offer than a "I'm better than you" attitude. But I'm a sucker for beautiful eyes...and I've yet to see a girl without them.

While I am in sympathy with the idea that being obedient does not mean being a servant, I do think it is absurd to suggest that the woman need not work either inside or outside the home. That IS a denial of the reality of life for most people. Most men can not afford to support wives and provide them with servants. NOWHERE in Pat Allen's book does it say that the woman should do NO work. what she does say is that tasks should be devided up according to what suits each couple "There are no gender-specific tasks" she says, and I totally agree with that. She does not advocate that the woman should be a parasite with no responsiblity for anything. If you think that Pat Allen's book says that the woman should take no responsiblity for anything, then I don't think you have read it with sufficient care.

by Louise C on 2006 Jan 25 - 09:49 | reply to this comment Fairy tales As far as living in fairy tales goes, I have always preferred those fairy tales in which the heroine takes an active rather than a passive role. I admired characters like Kate Crackernuts, Molly Whuppie, Tatterhood, etc. I think passivity can be taken too far, and the notion that a woman should be responsible for NOTHING does not seem to me to be the way to have a healthy relationship. And it is certainly not what is advocated by Pat Allen.
